Human Rights Officer

The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina is hiring a qualified Human Rights Officer located in Tuzla. He/She will be monitoring systematic human rights concerns, especially in the areas of economic and social rights, minority rights and human trafficking. Additionally the successful candidate will be analysing legislation, policies and practice to ensure domestic compliance with international human rights law and standards. Also the successful candidate will be undertaking specific research and collects data to determine the extent to which a right is compiled in relation to the international human rights standard and to identify the most important obstacle to its compliance. She/He will have an university education in political sciences, international relations, public policy, law, international human rights law or other human rights related fields. Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience including minimum 1 year in a relevant field strongly preferred are required to apply for this position. Associate

Human Rights Watch (“HRW”) is hiring a qualified Associate located in Miami, FL (United States). He/She will provide administrative support to the Director of Prospective Management and Research and the Miami Associate Director including scheduling, preparing for and taking minutes at meetings, recording and processing divisional finances, making travel arrangements, answering phones, processing mail and maintaining accurate file-keeping. Additionally the successful candidate will assist with in-depth research on individual and foundation prospects using various online tools to prepare donor solicitation strategies. Also the successful candidate will assist the Business and Human Rights Program with vetting requests from frontline fundraisers to ensure potential donors do not represent a conflict with HRW’s corporate solicitation policy. She/He will have a bachelor’s degree in human rights, international relations, social science, or a related field. A minimum of one year of relevant work experience are required to apply for this position. Human Rights Watch (“HRW”) is hiring a qualified Associate located in New York, NY (United States). He/She will provide administrative support to the Director of Americas Initiatives, including scheduling internal and external meetings, preparing donor mailings, preparing for and taking minutes at meetings, recording and processing divisional finances, making travel arrangements, answering phones, processing mail and maintaining accurate file-keeping. Additionally the successful candidate will track gifts and mass stewardship of Americas Initiatives donors. Also the successful candidate will produce financial reporting for the Americas Initiatives team. She/He will have a bachelor’s degree in international relations, journalism, social sciences, or related studies. Associate Legal Officer (P-2)

The Division of Judicial Services (DJS) is offering a position as Associate Legal Officer (P-2) situated in The Hague. He/She will analyse and undertake legal research into national and international legislation and jurisprudence. Additionally the successful candidate will be providing advice on legal issues; and drafting rules and procedures on detention matters. Also the successful candidate will be providing information and submitting filings to the relevant organs of the Court relative to the proper management of the Detention Center (DC). She/He will have an advanced university degree in law; emphasis on international criminal law, public international law, international humanitarian law, international human rights law or other relevant focus. A first level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience is accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional legal experience in a multi-cultural environment at national or international level are required to apply for this position.
