Human Rights Officer

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights is hiring a qualified Human Rights Officer located in Ramallah. He/She will develop the Office’s work plan and annual cost plan in accordance with OHCHR’s objectives and monitor its timely implementation. Additionally the successful candidate will coordinate the work of the Office on monitoring human rights violations, and on capacity building to the Government, civil society and the national human rights institution. Also the successful candidate will supervise, mentor and assess the performance of international and national staff working on the Office’s administrative, monitoring and capacity building functions, including through the adoption of workplans and regular appraisals of progress towards agreed goals. She/He will have an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in law, political science, international relations or other disciplines related to human rights. A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience at national and international levels in promoting and protecting human rights, and experience in programme management are required to apply for this position. Child Protection Officer

United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali is hiring a qualified Child Protection Officer located in Mali. Gender Affairs Officer

He/She will monitor and report on Women, Peace and Security-related trends and developments in the sub region, including the use of conflict-related sexual violence. Additionally the successful candidate will support the women’s effective participation and consultation in the design and implementation of UNMIK’s preventive diplomacy, good offices, national dialogue and mediation initiatives. Also the successful candidate will conduct gender-sensitive conflict analysis and help design response strategies to cross-border security threats. Protection of Civilians Officer

Field Missions Administered By Dpko is hiring a qualified Protection of Civilians Officer located in Gao. He/She will support the implementation and review of the mission-wide PoC strategy and local protection action plans in the area of responsibility. Additionally the successful candidate will provide secretariat support to the regional PoC Task Force. Also the successful candidate will ensure close coordination with relevant PoC partners in the review and implementation of the strategy and local protection plans, including with focal points for child protection and sexual violence in conflict. She/He will have an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in political science, international relations, humanitarian and human rights law, public administration or a related field.
