Gender Coordinator (UN Women)

UN Women is looking to fill the position of Gender Coordinator at their office in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, for a contract of one year. The Gender Coordinator is responsible for the administration of several projects within the organization, including many gender-related functions within the Judicial Reform and Institutional Strengthening programme. UN Women is an organization that advocates for equality between the sexes, particularly within the Caribbean. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for women’s rights. The position is only open to CARICOM nationals, and applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree in a related program as well as three years’ human rights experience. Compensation has not been disclosed. The closing date for the application is on February 12, and the expected start date is March 14.

Access to Gender Justice Intern (UN Women)

This would be an amazing internship for someone who is driven in the area of human rights justice, even more so if their passion extends deeply into gender equality. UN Women’s Barbados office is seeking an intern for a duration of eighty days, beginning April 8. Within this time frame the intern will provide support to senior members of the team working with Caribbean legislation as it regards to women, including performing research and maintaining databases. In order to be eligible applicants must be enrolled in or graduating from a graduate law program. The position is unpaid and all costs associated with it are the responsibility of the intern. Applications may be submitted until February 12.

Associate Programme Officer, Roma and Sinti Issues (OSCE)

This position with the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), a department within the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), will provide the chosen candidate with a wealth of experience in the field of human rights policy administration. The position is based out of Warsaw, Poland, and deals primarily with negotiating the specific challenges found within the Roma and Sinti communities. The requirements for applying are an advanced university degree in a relevant field, as well as a solid base of experience of no less than four years. Furthermore, only citizens of participating states are eligible to apply. Renumeration is not listed on the posting, and the competition will close on February 17.

Senior Programme Officer (OSCE)

Based out of Pristina, this position is part of a mission in Kosovo to monitor local governance and promote fair and democratic policies. Anyone with a firm belief in human equality and even-handed government administration should apply for this incredible opportunity. The eligibility requirements, however, are steep. Candidates must be physically fit, have driver’s license, and be able to drive a manual vehicle. Additionally an upper level university degree and six years of experience in a government operation is mandatory. The salary is unspecified. Applications will be accepted until February 18, and the position start date is April 24.
