Human Rights Officer (Reporting/legal Advisor)

The Office Of The High Commissioner For Human Rights is hiring a qualified Human Rights Officer (Reporting/legal Advisor) located in SANA’A. He/She will develop a work plan for the team, distribute tasks, coordinate the overall implementation of the information gathering, analysis and drafting activities. Additionally the successful candidate will advise the team on matters related to the applicable legal framework, including international human rights law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law and national laws directly related to the situation in Yemen. Also the successful candidate will prepare and ensure legal accuracy of briefings, minutes of meetings and analytical documents as required. Eligible candidates must hold an advanced University degree (Masters or equivalent) in law, human rights law, public international law, international humanitarian law or international criminal law or related. At least 7 years of progressively responsible legal and reporting experience in human rights and international humanitarian law are required to apply for this position. Human Rights Officer (Child Protection Officer)

The Office Of The High Commissioner For Human Rights is offering a position as Human Rights Officer (Child Protection Officer) based in SANA’A. Among the duties of this position is to aid in the identification of protection needs of children in Yemen, with special attention to issues of children associated with armed groups, incidents of killing or maiming of children, attacks against schools and hospitals affecting children and abduction of children. Among the duties of this position is furthermore to provide expertise on International Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law pertaining to children. Furthermore among the duties of this position is to liaise with appropriate national authorities, civil society, UN Agencies, Funds and Programs, NGOs and other relevant partners to collect information on human rights situation in Yemen. Eligible candidates must hold an advanced University degree (Masters or equivalent), preferably in law, political sciences, international relations or other disciplines related to human rights. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in promoting and protecting human rights, of which at least two years in the field are required to apply for this position. Human Rights Officer (Capacity Building)

The Office Of The High Commissioner For Human Rights is open for applications for the post as Human Rights Officer (Capacity Building) in SANA’A. Among the duties of this position is to support the national commission of inquiry and assess and validate their training needs. The successful candidate will also work in close coordination with the national commission and other partners to design and implement capacity-building activities for the national commission reflecting capacity development needs. Also the successful candidate will support the national commission to integrate international standards into their respective programs of activities.
