UN Women End Violence Against Women and Girls Program Specialist

UN Women is hiring an EVAWG (End Violence Against Women and Girls) Program Specialist in Bujumbura, Burundi. The duties of this position include researching and analyzing social and economic situations in assigned areas; providing valuable input to UN Women program planning offices based on research; working under a supervisor within the planning, coordination, and implementation of CO programs; strategically building partnerships to achieve program goals within their area; and providing support to the Representative on inter-agency coordination. The ideal candidate must have a Master’s degree in a related field of Social Science. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ of relevant experience in planning, managing, or operating a developing project (preferably in the field of gender and human rights). Prior experience with UN system is an asset, but not a necessity. The desired candidate must be fluent in written and spoken French and English, as well as other country-specific UN languages. UN Women Gender and Prosecution Expert – Attorney General’s Office

UN Women is hiring a Gender and Prosecution Expert for the Attorney General’s Office in the Palestinian territories. The main responsibilities of the position are to provide overall assistance in the institutionalization of the Specialized Public Prosecution of Family and Domestic violence; to provide support to the capacity building of the Gender Unit in the Attorney General’s Office; as well as to contribute towards coordination of program partners. The ideal candidate must have a Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Gender, Human Rights, or International Law). At least 5 years’ experience in the Palestinian Justice Sector is required, as well as at least 2 years of proven experience in gender mainstreaming and responsive measures towards gender-focused violence. Previous work in the UN is considered a strong asset but is not a necessity. Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is a requirement for this position.  This full-time office based position has a duration of 12 months.
