Field Fellow
The Karen Humans Rights Group is looking for a Field Fellow for the KHRG field team in Myanmar. This individual will analyze the current state of field operations and assist in the development of improved programs. S/he will provide support to the field team, contribute to the improvement of management systems, assist in the development of new procedures, assist in the process of revising and updating an existing document, and any tasks that become necessary. The desired candidate will have experience in developing or using tracking systems, experience in conducting research on human rights issues in Southeast Asia, and experience in capacity building for basic human rights principles, knowledge of the current human rights situation in Myanmar. S/He will be expected to successfully navigate Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of local languages would be an advantage. The application for the Field Fellow role closes on May 15, 2016.

Activist in Residence Programme
The Centre for Women Peace Security is hiring an Activist for the Residence Programme in London, England. Activists will be expected to address such issues as sexual and gender-based violence, peacebuilding, efforts to ensure the security of women, and many more conflict resolution based tasks. S/he will develop a network, engage in discussions, exchange ideas, interact with students, and contribute to research projects. The desired applicant will be anyone who has been involved in human rights or justice-related projects. Candidates who have prior experience in conflict driven environments are highly preferred. All candidates must be proficient in English with excellent verbal skills to be successful in this role. The duration of this position will be three months. Deadline to apply is June 1, 2016.

Visiting Scholar
The United Nations University has a vacancy for a Visiting Scholar in Accra, Ghana.  The Visiting scholar will participate in research for a three-year long project. Female applicants and applicants from the African continent greatly desired, especially those who are either the instructor or enrolled at an African university. A Ph.D. in the field of environment, natural resource, ecological, development, or agricultural economics is required. All candidates must be fluent in oral and written English or French. Knowledge of both languages or another UN languages would be an advantage. The Visiting Scholar will receive a stipend pay of around $1,500 a month. S/he will be expected to work three months out of a year annually. There is no deadline for this application but applicants are encouraged to apply ASAP.

Junior Research Fellowship
This position is only available to current or graduated students of Columbia University’s School of International and Public affairs. The United Nations University is looking for a fellow to take part in the Junior Research Fellowship in New York, USA. This is a valuable opportunity to gain work experience and exposure to the inner workings of UNU. Fellows or members of the Junior Research Fellowship will engage in research initiatives for current issues. S/he will be involved in a programme that takes such tasks as training of peers, mentoring future Junior Research fellows, and directing consultations between the UNU to Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. S/he will also be expected to produce a research paper for the paper series. Fluency in oral and written English is a requirement. Knowledge of another UN language would be an asset. There is no closing date for this application, but all interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Visiting Researcher
The United Nations University has a vacancy for a Visiting Researcher for the Visiting Researchers Programme in Barcelona, Spain. The Visiting Researcher will research topics with a focus on the Migration and Crises program. S/he will be responsible for participating in company seminars, carrying out a research project, creating output publications, producing research-based reports, and other research related tasks. The Candidate will have to be living in Barcelona for 3 months and work at a UNU-GCM office for the full duration of the fellowship. The Visiting Researcher must have a Ph.D. in a field of study such as migration, communications, and media, humanities, or another social science related course. The desired candidate will have a professional background in research and publication production. A proficient understanding of both English and Spanish would be an advantage.
