UN-OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship Programme 2018

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN-OHCHR) is offering an advanced human rights training programme for indigenous candidates (non-indigenous persons will not be taken into consideration, even if they have close links with indigenous communities and/or organizations) around the world. The goal of the programme is to enable and strengthen capacity building for indigenous leaders and representatives regarding the UN human rights meachanisms, instruments and system in order to enable these leaders and their communities to better defend and promote their rights. There are no formal education and age requirements in order to increase the accessibility of this programme. The selected candidates are entitled to a return flight ticket, living expenses and basic health insurance for the duration of the training and the candidate should be proposed and his/her candidacy supported by his/her indigenous organization and/or community.
