Senior Protection Coordinator (IRC)
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is hiring a Senior Protection Coordinator in Greece. The Senior Protection Coordinator will be responsible for program strategy, training and development, grant monitoring and reporting, and coordination and representation. S/he will be managing current protection activities, ensuring that initiatives are met in a timely fashion, shaping IRC protection strategy, developing budgets, monitoring existing grants, providing technical guidance and support throughout a variety of tasks, and so much more. A Master’s Degree in health, social science, human rights, law humanities, or another relevant field is required for this position. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in protection focused projects or programs, as well as experience in working in a hostile or crises driven environment. Fluency in written and spoken English is required as well as fluency in Arabic. Proficiency in Greek and Farsi is highly preferred as well. Migration Officer (IOM)
IOM International Organization for Migration has a vacancy for a Migration Officer in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Migration Officer will assist in the management of the Return of Qualified Afghan program (RQA), research information and resource center, and the development of a system to monitor capacity building programs. The desired candidate must have at least a Master’s Degree in social and political science, international relations, humanitarian, or a relevant field, as well as 2 – 4 years of working experience in migration related issues. Prior UN experience or knowledge would be an asset. Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of Dari and Pashto would be an asset. Resettlement Intern (UNHCR)
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees is looking for a Resettlement Intern in Ibarra, Ecuador. The Resettlement Intern will be supervised by the Head of Field Office and the Resettlement Consultant. The candidate will receive worthwhile experience in the industry by taking on such tasks as conducting interviews, assisting caseworkers, researching and constructing COI reports, assisting in locating applicants and arranging appointments, processing phone calls, preparing and sending regular correspondence, and carrying out a variety of tasks. There are no prior requirements for this position, but previous studies in international relations, social sciences, or law are preferred. Studies in International Human Rights Law and International Refugee Law is desired. Fluency in written and spoken English is required. This internship is unpaid and will last for 6 months. Legal Intern (UNHCR)
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees is offering a vacancy for a Legal Intern for the Summer 2016 Term in Brussels, Belgium. The Legal Intern will monitor and analyze the local law, researching COI information, researching refugee issues, drafting reports, writing and translating texts, responding to information requests, assisting in the organization of events, and any other tasks that are deemed necessary. Previous experience in refugee or human rights matters is highly preferred. A Master’s Degree in law is required.
