The International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) is looking for a Program Officer to join its office in The Hague. ICTJ is an international non-profit organisation specialising in the field of transitional justice.

The position includes both administrative and programmatic responsibilities. The Program Officer will support the Head of Office in carrying out ICTJ’s programmes and activities in The Hague including, assisting on research and analysis projects, supporting and carrying out policy initiatives and liaising with EU actors and institutions in Brussels. Other responsibilities include, carrying out research in fields related to transitional justice, assisting in the development of grant and budget proposals, assisting in programme management and preparing materials and logistics for public events, conferences, courses and meetings as well as participating in seminars, conferences and meetings as required. In addition, the Program Officer will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of the office and assisting with financial and administrative matters as necessary. Some travel may be required.

The successful applicant will have at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as law, international relations, or political science. In addition, s/he will have three to five year’s work experience including substantial international experience. Experience with international agencies and/or NGOs is highly desirable. Experience in the field of transitional justice, human rights, or peacebuilding is particularly advantageous.

Candidates should have project/program management experience and strong oral and written communication skills. The successful applicant will be familiar with relevant legal issues, public policy and international affairs and have a demonstrated commitment to the field. S/he will also have strong analytical, research and report writing skills.

Ada Hasanagić is a human rights professional currently working as a researcher at the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Previously, Ada graduated with honors from the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology and the University of Buckingham in the fields of Political Science and International Relations. Also, she earned a master’s degree in Democracy and Human Rights from the University of Sarajevo and University of Bologna.
