From Poverty to Prosperity: Understanding Economic Development is an online course offered by the prestigious University of Oxford in the UK. Taught in English by celebrated professor Sir Paul Collier, this introductory course explores the political, social and economic factors that affect development and provides a broad overview of how different countries have developed in the past. The 6-week course culminates with a final assignment that has students evaluate the challenges of a real development plan. To successfully complete the course, students will need to spend 2 to 3 hours per week watching videos, completing readings and doing short assignments.
