The Department of Global Health of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University is offering a free course called “Ebola Virus Disease: An Evolving Epidemic” Taught entirely online by the chair of the department and assistant professor, the course of study lasts for 6 weeks and requires roughly 4 to 6 hours of work every week. The class is presented a series of videos. Students are expected to complete independent readings prior to watching the videos and then take a graded quiz after viewing the video. Ideal for students with an interest in public health or disaster relief, the class covers all aspects of the global response to ebola, including patient care, prevention techniques, laboratory testing and disease management. The course also examines how ebola is having an impact on the delivery of health care around the globe.
