The MA Conflict Transformation and Social Justice at Queen’s University Belfast is an interdisciplinary postgraduate programme that equips students with a deep understanding of how social justice, conflict and transformation interact in global and local contexts. It draws on multiple disciplines including politics, law, anthropology, philosophy and sociology to explore the causes of conflict, approaches to peacebuilding and the role of justice in processes of social change. Students build personalised learning pathways through a range of core and optional modules, gaining insight into topics such as conflict intervention, comparative human rights, global political economy, social injustice and the anthropology of conflict.

The programme emphasises critical research and independent inquiry, culminating in a substantial dissertation that allows students to investigate a topic in depth. Learning is supported by engagement with academics and practitioners with international expertise, and students are encouraged to connect their studies with community experiences and real‑world issues.

Graduates develop strong analytical, research, communication and problem‑solving skills that are applicable across sectors such as peacebuilding, policy research, advocacy, community work, law, journalism, international development and further academic study.
