The UK Department for International Development (DFID) offers the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships to help individuals who live in developing countries receive post-secondary education to use at home to assist their economies. Scholarship recipients receive financial support to cover the cost of tuition and fees for distance learning master’s degrees programs offered through universities in the United Kingdom. To qualify for one of the scholarships, applicants must be a citizen from one of the countries identified by the DFID as a developing nation and be permanently residing there or be a refugee or a British protected person. Applicants must also have at least a bachelor’s degree and be able to receive acceptance to a distance learning master’s program in the United Kingdom.
