The Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs provides a number of scholarships to help students pursue post-secondary education while studying abroad. The Scholarship for Racial Justice awards up to $4,000 to cover the cost of studying abroad. Only students of color are considered for this award. The Scholarship for Social Justice provides $1500 for the cost of studying abroad. To be considered for the award, applicants must be the first person in their family to attend college and have demonstrated financial need or be a person of color. Through the Scholarship for Community Engagement, the HECUA awards $350 to $750 to help offset the costs of studying abroad. Applicants must have a demonstrated history of working to affect social change to be considered for the awards.
