3 Internships with UNODC (Vienna), UNISDR (Geneva) and OTP (The Hague)


Information Intern

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) internship seeks the services of a Public Information Intern in Vienna. The role of this post will include translating new web stories, tweets and UNODC web pages into French, assisting in the management of UNODC social medial sites, conducting research relevant to UNODC publications and maintenance of journalist database. They will also proofread press releases translated into French. To be eligible applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, be computer literate in standard office software applications and must be fluent in written and spoken English and french. Applicants must also possess good communication skills with the ability to correctly interpret messages from others and responds appropriately. No work experience is required. Intern – Programme Management
The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) isĀ  looking for a Programme Managment intern in Geneva. The deadline for this opportunity is the 13 April 2016. This position is primarily focused on supporting ongoing work of the Open-ended Inter-governmental Expert Working Group (OIEWG) on Terminologies and Indicators related to Disaster Risk Reduction. The responsibility of this post will include providing meeting support for the UNIDSR support group, Organizing and analyzing documents and other supplementary information received, assisting in reviewing/organizing nominations, updating mailing and contact lists. The eligible candidate must be fluent in English. They must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant area of study, good communication skills with the ability to correctly interpret messages from others and respond appropriately. Previous work experience is not needed. Applications will be accepted till Wednesday, 13 April 2016.

Intern – Legal Affairs Appeals and Immediate Office of the Prosecutor
This position is located in the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) in The Hague and under the supervision and direction of a legal officer in the Appeals/IO Division. The duties of this post will include assisting OTP appeals counsel in conducting legal and factual research, drafting memoranda on issues of international humanitarian law and finalizing appellate filing. Interns will also assist with a broad range of projects, which includes providing support on legal issues for the Trial and Appeals Sections, drafting speeches, reports and other materials for the Prosecutor and developing educational materials. Eligible candidates are required to be in their final year of legal study, be computer literate in standard software applications, must be fluent in oral and written English and French. Candidates must also possess good communication skills and the ability to work in a team. No previous professional work experience is needed. Application closes on Tuesday 14 June 2016.
