Brennan Center for Justice – Undergraduate Internship – Fall 2016

The Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law seeks interns to provide administrative and clerical support to staff in their New York office in the Communications, Democracy, Development, Finance & Operations, Human Resources, Justice, and Liberty & National Security Programs/Departments. All interns will assist with general administrative, research, and clerical work. Each department has its own specific requirements. Experience with Windows XP, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is a must. Database experience is considered an asset. This internship is only open to current undergraduate students. Interns will work 15-25 hours per week at $11/hour for one semester. The deadline is August 12, 2016.

Immigrant Defenders Law Center – Post Graduate Law Clerk

The Immigrant Defenders Law Center provides legal services to immigrants in Southern California. They seek a postgraduate law clerk for an 8-week internship position within their Children’s Representation Project. The law clerk will work with Managing Attorneys to defend unaccompanied children in removal proceedings, conduct research and write memoranda and briefs, and prepare for and appear in Immigration Court hearings. The qualifications required include a Juris Doctorate and plan to sit for the July 2016 CA Bar Exam, commitment of 40 hours per week for 8 weeks, strong legal research and writing skills, and proficiency in Spanish. The Law clerk will receive $25/hour. The deadline is August 1, 2016.

Human Rights Foundation – Fall Program Intern

The Human Rights Foundation in New York City seeks a full-time intern for Fall 2016 to assist with writing and editing, research, web and media development, clerical and administrative work. The intern will also assist in the planning of the annual Oslo Freedom Forum. The candidate should possess excellent research and communication skills. Fluency in a foreign language is beneficial. The compensation is $1,000/month for full-time availability. The deadline is August 1, 2016.

Institute for Policy Studies – Communications Intern

The Institute for Policy Studies in Washington DC. is seeking an intern who will support the team in media monitoring, web content maintenance, social media, and copy editing. Applicants should expect to commit to 10-12 hours a week and should be a rising junior or senior or graduate student with a major or commensurate experience in Communications, PR, Marketing, Journalism, or similar areas of study. This is a paid position ($11.50/hour) offering the opportunity for academic credit. The deadline is August 4, 2016.
