Gulf Migrants Rights Researcher
Amnesty International Global Thematic Issues department has a vacancy for a permanent Gulf Migrants Rights Researcher in London, England with efforts in South Asia and the Gulf. The role of this position is to lead the Amnesty International flagship project that focuses on migrant workers in Qatar. The Gulf Migrants Rights Researcher will participate in field investigations with a focus on analysis on human rights concerns and information gathering. S/he will be expected to research the situation and implement strategies to positively impact the welfare of migrant workers. Strategic advocacy with Government officials and persons of interest is a responsibility of this position as well.  A successful applicant will have professional experience in investigative research, as well as the experience of working with migrant workers, and will be a Gulf native with knowledge of labor rights. The candidate must have a working knowledge of English and Arabic, and will be able to express empathy and ideas freely. The annual salary for this position is £45,855 at 35 hours a week. Health and Human Rights Intern
Human Rights Watch is looking for a Health and Human Rights Intern for the Summer 2016 term. The main duties of the Intern include researching information on a range of legal issues that are related to environmental health and human rights, assisting in the process of drafting documents of advocacy, and participating in any efforts that become necessary. All interns must be currently enrolled students. Students who are interested should contact their advisor to see if they fit the requirements for internships with academic benefits. HRW internships are not paid. The ideal schedule for candidates would be at least 15 hours a week for 10 weeks, but full-time internships will also be considered. Competency in basic computer programs like Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer is required. All candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of foreign languages would be an advantage. Applicants who are not US citizens or in possession of a valid visa must apply for J-A visa several weeks prior to application. There is no specified deadline for application, but it is recommended to apply for this internship as soon as possible.

Research Assistant
Human Rights Watch is hiring a Research Assistant for the Beirut Office (The Middle East and Africa “MENA” division). S/he will provide assistance in monitoring and reporting violations in specified areas. The specific duties of the Research Assistant include assisting in all forms of research and advocacy, provide support for the efforts of the Researchers and Officer Director, develop and maintain contacts with government officials, assist in the investigation and analyzation of human rights conditions as well as preparing reports for discussion, draft and edit news publications, translate documents between English and Arabic as well as act as a translator during meetings, and performing other tasks as they are required. The desired candidate has a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in law, journalism, international relations, Middle Eastern studies, or a relevant field. At least 2 years of work experience in an office environment or field research is required. Candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic. The Development and Outreach Department is looking for a part-time Associate in New York, USA. The Associate will provide all forms of administrative assistance to the Development Operations team. The specific responsibilities of the associate include processing major gifts and event donations, entering information into the database, sending direct marketing gifts, liaising with Finance, responding to requests in regard to data services, training staff on the database, and performing necessary tasks. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in social science, human relations, international relations, or a relevant field is required, as well as at least one year of relevant work experience. Experience with Razor’s Edge database systems as well as knowledge of HTML would be an advantage. Strong customer service skills are a requirement for this position.
