International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) recruits paid Trainee

International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is currently hiring a qualified Trainee in the Law and Policy Forum Unit situated in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Trainee will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and the Managing Editor in the identification of future topics, assessment of articles, and overall content management, as well as the promotion and distribution of thematic editions of the Review. The staff of the Review is in regular interaction with ICRC’s Legal Division, as well as other divisions and departments, in particular ICRC’s Protection Division, Operations Department, and Policy Unit.

The successful applicant will assist the Editor and the Editor-in-Chief of the Review in the conceptualization of the themes, contacts with authors, peer reviewers and the publisher, background research and substantive evaluation of articles.

He/She will provide assistance to the Editor-in-Chief and the Managing Editor of the International Review of the Red Cross. The tasks of this position additionally include to prepare and co-conduct interviews with key experts in the field of humanitarian law, policy and action for the Review.

Also the successful candidate will liaise with authors and partners, and management of the Review files.

She/He will have a university degree in law or international relations. To apply for this position fluency is required in English, and a very good understanding of French is necessary.
