Doctors Without Borders is offering a paid internship program within in its office in New York. By working as an intern for Doctors Without Borders, you can gain relevant work experience in the sectors of Communications Development, Human Resources, Executive Departments and other programs. Interns will also be able to get a standard introduction to the work surrounding international medical advocacy and humanitarian aid. Each available internship will operate out of the New York office of Doctors Without Borders and will pay an hourly wage of $15.

In order to be accepted for an internship position, you must meet a few qualifications, the first being that you are eligible to work in the United States. Any international candidates will need to obtain and finance their own US Work Permits. It is important that you are able to move to New York City if you are not already living there, and on your cover letter, you will need to indicate explicitly that this is something you are able to do. If you must relocate, you are responsible for the costs of doing so, as well as the costs of accommodation.
This program is competitive, meaning that candidates who have applied will be chosen based on their merits. The applications for internships are accepted on a rolling basis, so candidates are free to apply for more than one term at a time; however, you will only be contacted if chosen for the current term.
There are three separate internships starting in the year 2020. The Spring Internship will run from January 22nd to May 24th, 2020, and in order to qualify, applications must be sent in by December 31st, 2019. For the Summer Internship between the dates of May 26th to August 28th, 2020, applications must be submitted before April 17, 2020. Finally, for the 2020 Fall Internship that runs from September 8th to December 23rd, 2020, applications must be submitted before August 14, 2020. The preferred method of application submission is either Microsoft Word or PDF Format.
