UNICEF – United Nations Children’s Fund is hiring a qualified Education Officer located in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
He/She will conduct/update situation analysis and assessments to establish evidence-based data for UNICEF advocacy and development of policies, framework and programmes to alternative learnings opportunities particularly for the empowerment of more vulnerable out-of-school adolescent girls and boys in the country and for monitoring results on related programmes/projects.
Additionally the successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with internal and external colleagues and partners to discuss alternatives learning opportunities (including life skills, gender empowerment and parenting education for most vulnerable out-of-school adolescents) operational and implementation issues, provide solutions, recommendations and/or alert appropriate officials and stakeholders for higher-level intervention and/or decision.
Also the successful candidate will conduct regular programme field visits and surveys and/or exchange information with partners/stakeholders to assess progress and provide technical support, take appropriate action to resolve issues and/or refer to relevant officials for resolution.
She/He will have an university degree in education, anthropology, psychology, sociology, or other social science field.
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in social development planning and management in education and alternative learning opportunities and other related areas at the international level some of which preferably served in a developing country are required to apply for this position.
